EPA watershed assessment: Public meetings

Seattle hearing on impact of proposed Alaska mine (May 29, The Associated Press, via the Seattle Times)

The Environmental Protection Agency is holding one of its hearings on a proposed Alaska mine in Seattle to give fishermen a chance to comment in person. Sen. Maria Cantwell requested Thursday’s hearing because she says fishermen would be affected if the Pebble Mine damages the Bristol Bay salmon fishery.

The Seattle meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, May 31, at the Jackson Federal Building, 915 Second Ave.
