Environmental Baseline Studies meetings being web-cast: Jan 31-Feb 3

The Pebble Limited Partnership (PLP) has scheduled four days of “Agency Meetings” to provide an overview of its Pebble Project Environmental Baseline Studies. Meetings start Tuesday, January 31 and will go through Friday, February 3. The long-awaited Environmental Baseline Document is described by PLP as the “cornerstone” of the permitting process for the Pebble Mine development. It includes thousands of pages of environmental data collected in the Bristol Bay area since 2004, on topics such as climate, hydrology, vegetation and wetlands, fish habitat and marine wildlife.

The meetings will be broadcast live by webinar. Members of the public will have the ability to ask questions about audio sound quality, but questions regarding content of the presentations will be limited to agency personnel in attendance. PLP has also stated its intent to post the proceedings to its website, and to provide them on DVD. To request a copy of this DVD, email AgencyMtg@PebblePartnership.com after February 3.
